The second wine to be released from our Burge's Field vineyard.
Hand-picked and bunch pressed in mid-October, at the end of the long hot summer of 2014, the juice was fermented in concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks by the team at Coates & Seely. Using some malolactic fermentation to further soften the gentle acidity the base wines were then tasted and blended in a ratio of 38.5% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Meunier and 17.5% Pinot Noir. Secondary fermentation in bottle was followed by 38 months ageing on lees before the wine was disgorged in June 2018 and dosed at 7g/l.
We look forward to building on this delicious foundation.

Plentiful fruit on the nose with a gently floral edge, underlain by a creamy autolytic character.
Light, refined and extremely refreshing on the palate with vibrant fruit followed by a long, fine finish with biscuity notes and a hint of English citrus.
We drink the CLASSIC as an aperitif and enjoy it with:
- fine, buttery slices of iberico ham
- rich, smoked fish
- ROKA cheese crispies!
Pale with lovely fine mousse. On the nose rich, biscuity fruit, some crème pâtissière and creamy, grilled notes, a distant hint of brioche too, lightly floral. On the palate very light and fresh with vibrant white fruits, white flowers, less grilled than the nose implies and then autolysis / bready characters come through on the finish. Fine and racy, fresh with notes of citrus behind, very exciting on finish, with a lovely bone dry feel.
A superb debut.
