Description

The Grange are very pleased to be releasing their second still wine – the STILL PINK 2023. The fruit was de-stemmed and held for five hours in the press to add a soft pink tint. The majority of the resulting juice was then fermented in steel at relatively low temperatures to preserve the fresh fruit profile and the wine then blended back with a single old oak barrel to add further weight and texture. The wine was bottled 6 weeks ago under screw-cap and has been made to enjoy over the coming summer months.

Zam Baring CEO of Grange Estate Wines Limited, said “Though we won’t ever make more than a couple of thousand bottles of the STILL PINK, I do love the way it so clearly expresses the delightful fruit characters that Burges Field grapes produce. I also love the fact that last year’s bottling sold out and we have advanced orders from canny locals for this one, so I’m doubly happy!”

Tasting Notes

Made from a single clone of Pinot Noir grown in The Grange’s sheltered, south-facing vineyard seven miles east of Winchester in Hampshire, this wine is, as Harry Pickering, Head Winemaker, says “… a wonderful, direct expression of the fruit we produce in Burges Field. With juicy macerated berries and stone fruit on the nose, the palate is full and rich with more stone fruit and a hint of lychee before a very light spritz carries through to a distinctly dry and moreish finish.”
